At home, Kiyotsugu grows excited over the messages pouring into his website from people witnessing the yōkai battle downtown.
At the battle, Rikuo realizes that the one who saved him is Tsurara and tells her to leave and let him handle Tamazuki. Frustrated, she shouts at him for having selfishly confronted the enemy commander on his own and not showing gratitude for her having saved his life - before declaring that she will be Tamazuki's opponent instead. Believing his sword to be his only weapon, she charges in before Rikuo can warn her about Yosuzume, who covers the immediate area with her feathers. Tamazuki smugly admires his subordinate's handiwork as Tsurara lies on the ground in confusion, blinded.
Meanwhile, Gozumaru wakes up at the main house, where Zen gives him medicine. The former asks where Rikuo is, declaring in a panic that he needs to tell him about Tamazuki's sword, and how the Shikoku Hachijūhakki Yakō is a trap.
Downtown, Yosuzume has a one-sided battle with the blinded Tsurara and Tamazuki muses on how, even by covering her eyes, Tsurara couldn't avoid Yosuzume's ability. He then targets Rikuo, who initiates his fear - but Tamazuki strikes before he can lose his awareness of Rikuo's position. Injured, Rikuo stumbles backward, ending up back-to-back with Tsurara, who adamantly says she will protect him for eternity. Finally accepting that she has no intention of leaving, he focuses on Tamazuki and lets Tsurara guard his back. Yosuzume flies in for another assault, and Tsurara reveals that she froze over one of her eyes to prevent blindness - before releasing her own counterattack.
