Inuhōō (犬鳳凰, Inuhōō; Literally meaning "Dog Phoenix") is an anthropomorphic bird yōkai who can breathe fire. He is one of the executives of the Shikoku Hachijūhakki Yakō. In the anime, he is able to turn into a bird which resembles a phoenix and shoot flames from his wings.

Manga vs. Anime
Manga
He is used as a shield by Tamazuki during the battle against Rikuo's forces. As a result, he is killed by the latter's "Meikyō Shisui, Sakura" technique.
Anime
Shortly after the Shikoku Hachijūhakki Yakō arrives in Ukiyoe Town, he faces Yura and burns her shikigami paper with his flames before the Sanba Garasu chase him away. He later appears to rescue Gangi Kozō from a losing battle against Kappa, and serves as a bodyguard for Sodemogi-sama along with Tearai Oni. He once again battles the Sanba Garasu, but is defeated and killed when the three of them create a wind funnel which diverts his own flames back toward him.
