Gyūki's Beloved Nura Clan (牛鬼の愛した奴良組, Gyūki no Aishita Nura-gumi) is chapter 17 of the Nurarihyon no Mago manga written by Hiroshi Shiibashi.

Summary[]

Gyūki lays defeated in the ground and tells Rikuo that Mt. Nejireme marks the western boundary of the Nura Clans territory and beyond this point the Nura Clan has no claim whatsoever. As they talk, the Mount Takao Tengu Party arrives and quickly tries to assess the situation. Gyūki tells Rikuo that's because he's in this area he understands that from both within and without: this clan is fracturing. He then says that it must be reorganized immediately and that's why he made his move; because he cannot forgive anyone who attempts to destroy his beloved Nura Clan.

Gyūku then tries to kill himself but before he is able, the sword is cut by Rikuo. When he asks Rikuo why he won't let him die, saying that he must take responsibility for the uprising, Rikuo tells Gyūki that he considered him to be a coward so he wanted to kill him, but now that he has proven that he's not a coward, he still wants to die. Gyūki acknowledges him but his choice is still death. Rikuo then says that he doesn't have to die for something like this.

One of the Kurasu Tengu then asks Rikuo why something like this has happened, to which Rikuo replies that there is no need to talk to anyone about what has happened. Rikuo then tells Gyūki about the "answer" from before, and that he must ask him about his humanity when he is in his human form. Rikuo then says that if he doesn't like his answer, he is feel free to kill him and then he can finish himself as he wants.

Back at home, Rikuo in human form then sees that Gyūki's wounds are healed. After that Gyūki then sees that Rikuo really transforms in the morning. Rikuo then tells Gyūki that he remembers everything his night form has done, such as killing the 3 yōkai. Rikuo then says that when he is a yōkai, his blood heats up and he would forget who he really was. He then says that he is scared but he has friends that he needs to protect and that there will always be times that he can depend on his yōkai blood. He expresses his thanks to Gyuki for caring about the clan and tells him he can always be a part of his Hakki Yakou.

Rikuo then tries to remember where Kiyotsugu and Shima were after Kiyotusgu fainted from seeing Rikuo in his night form. It is revealed that he and Shima are with Aotabō and his subordinates, looking for Rikuo.
