Meanwhile, Kurotabō finally defeats his opponent and decides to go help the other Nura Clan members with their individual fights. First is Aotabō, who appears to be beaten by Tearai Oni... until the former releases his skull rosary and fights back using his full strength. As Kurotabō arrives, Tearai Oni has just been punched into the concrete. Mildly annoyed, he decides to go help Kappa instead but discovers that the latter has just defeated his opponent as well. Kurotabō is about to head off to help Kubinashi when Kejōrō runs past, concerned that Kubinashi will hold back because he is fighting a girl. Frustrated and unsure what to do, Kurotabō consoles himself with a reminder of Sodemogi-sama's defeat.
Kubinashi tells his opponent Hari Onna that the Shikoku Hachijūhakki Yakō can't win against the Nura Clan, but she is convinced that they will rule over all yōkai. Nonplussed, Kubinashi wonders if her denial of reality is a result of her commander's charm, to which she hastily agrees - just before he tells her how Tamazuki had killed Inugami, his own subordinate. Hari Onna is stunned and recalls a conversation she once had with Inugami as to why he followed Tamazuki despite hating him. She inwardly admits that she has only been following Tamazuki out of fear, and then declares that a real commander should be terrifying like that. Kubinashi, disgusted, refutes her claim before immobilizing her with his string.
Nearby, Tamazuki states that his subordinates are all useless, demanding they sacrifice themselves for him. Slashing with his sword, he begins slaughtering his startled and confused subordinates. Hari Onna rushes in, attempting to stop him from killing their allies, but he slices her as well. As she falls at his feet, Tamazuki declares that he will become the demon king with the blood of his subordinates.
